UF Plant (Ultra Filtration)
Hollow-fibre filtration for clear, microbe-free water.
What it is
An Ultra Filtration (UF) plant uses hollow-fibre membranes to remove suspended solids, turbidity and microbes without needing high pressure.
A UF plant can work on its own to give clear water, or as pre-treatment before an RO plant to protect the RO membranes and improve their life.
How it works
- Feed water screeningIncoming water passes through a coarse filter to protect the membranes.
- Low-pressure filtrationWater is pushed through hollow-fibre membranes at low pressure.
- Contaminant removalSuspended solids, turbidity and microbes are held back by the membrane.
- Clean water collectionClear filtrate is collected for use or sent to the next treatment stage.
- Backwash and cleaningRegular backwash and cleaning keep the membranes working well.
Key benefits
- Removes suspended solids, turbidity and microbes
- Works without high pressure
- Excellent pre-treatment before RO
- Consistent filtered water quality
- Compact footprint
- Annual maintenance support available
Where it is used
- Stand-alone drinking water filtration
- Pre-treatment before RO plants
- Industries
- Institutions and campuses
- Commercial buildings
